State Cup Begins

OK folks, the time we've all been working for is upon us. Looks like the State Cup is here again! Below is the bracket, teams, locations and times we will need. The girls look so ready, it is obvious the choice to play up in age did wonderful things for the team!

4/12/08 - 11:00AM - Rec #1 - vs ESU Arsenal
4/19/08 - 12:00PM - Lakeridge HS #2 - vs LOSC Extreme
4/20/08 - 1:00PM - Rec #1 - vs FC Portland

The Skinny:
ESU Arsenal - Although they finished ahead of us in the fall season, this is a very beatable team, evident by the pounding we gave them this spring and the fact that they are 0-5 thus far playing U13. They finished second in the State Pre's behind Keizer Hotshots with a record of 2-0-2.
LOSC Extreme - Thus far this spring season LOSC is 5-1 playing U12 (their only loss was to OR Rush 95G Nike). They finished the State Cup Pre with an identical record as us (4-0-0) but scored fewer goals. Having Sodium play U13 this fall will prove the edge we need to eliminate LOSC.
FC Ptld Platinum - Always a good time beating FC. Currently they are 1-3-1 in the U12 spring season and are a very beatable team. They finished their State Pre bracket with a 2-1-1 record just behind OSA. Sodium has always dominated FC and the trend will likely continue.

Looking at the U13 bracket I was pleasantly surprised to find Sodium (3-3), one of two U12 teams playing up, was (in my opinion) holding either 3rd or 4th spot depending on how you calculated it. Not bad in a field of 8. The other U12 team, ESU Arsenal, was dead last at 0-5.

The "B" bracket consists of powerhouse OR Rush 95G Nike, Keizer Hotshots, OSA Inferno and WSM Strikers. WSM(2-1-1) finished second in our State Pre bracket, OSA(2-0-2) finshed on top of theirs, OR Rush(3-1-0) finished second to LOSC in their bracket and Keizer(3-1-0) finished on top in their bracket.
